US NAVY: 1976 - 1981, Senior Chemical Dependency Counselor on board Aircraft Carrier, USS Saratoga. Developed and directed the first Counseling and Assistance Center on a Navy Ship. Professional Activities John founded Baxter Assistance Services, Inc. (BAS) in 1989, with the primary mission of providing full service employee assistance and drug free workplace programs to employers in the Greater Houston/Texas area. Major companies serviced by BAS: Mobil Oil, VARCO International (USA and parts of Canada), and Phillips Petroleum. Current contracts include; Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. (Houston and USA), Cities of Pearland, La Marque, and Dickinson, Kirby Inland Marine, Inc, Horizon Offshore, and Chusei USA, Inc. (Bayport), many in excess of 10 years. BAS is recognized as a provider of Substance Abuse Professional services for numerous 3rd Party Administrators/Drug Testing Companies and 100's of employers regulated by the Department of Transportation, for example; Mayflower Moving, North American Van Lines, Allied Van Lines, Martin Gas Transport, Transmeridian Airlines (through out the USA), Silver Eagle Distributors, TEX-Air Helicopters, Clark Freight Lines, Maxim Crane Works, TNT Crane, Blue Flash Express, and others.June 2, 2001 provided presentation "The Role of the SAP" to the attendees of the national conference of Drug Abuse Testing Industry Association. June 6, 2001 provide Substance Abuse Professional training for members and invited professionals, Houston Drug Free Business Initiative. John has met all the requirements as required by Department of Transportation's 49 CFR Part 40, Procedures for Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs, August 1, 2001 including the "Qualification Training and Testing" which is newest requirement effective January 1, 2004. |
