More:

BAXTER ASSISTANCE SERVICES, Inc. (BAS) is a privately held, for-profit corporate employee assistance, alcohol and drug abuse prevention service company.

BAS, Inc. has been a provider of full service Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) services since 1989. Primarily servicing small to mid size employers located throughout the USA.

The company was founded by John H. Baxter, who after 15 years of working in traditional mental health/chemical dependency treatment facilities realized that he was most satisfied when working with employers who recognized that their most valuable assets are their employees and yet those employees personal problems, unaddressed, often become their number one business problems.

Employee assistance programs are worksite programs designed to assist work organizations in addressing productivity issues and to help employee clients in identifying and resolving personal concerns.  These issues are including but not limited to marital, family, financial, alcohol and drug related, legal, and emotional, stress or other personal issues that may affect job performance.

Basic Services:

1.        Assist in developing EAP policy and procedures

2.         Provide supervisory training in recognition, documentation, confrontation, and referral of the troubled employee.

3.         Professional, confidential, assessment and referral services.

4.         Services are provided on contractual basis. HOWEVER, SAP services may be provided to individuals on a “fee for service” arrangement.

5.         24 hour availability.

Employee Assistance Programs are based on the belief that human resources are the most valuable assets in the world of work.  At one time or another, it is possible that each employee of any company has had a personal problem that affected their productivity.  However, national statistics reflect that approximately 10% of these employees are not able to resolve these problems on their own and their decreased productivity exceeds the company’s boundaries of acceptable performance.

Employee Assistance Programs provide the link between employees under personal stress and the services necessary to resolve their problems. These problems are constructively dealt with in a confidential manner through the Employee Assistance Program.
